Sameh El Dahan and WKD Toronto Take Commanding Win in $75,000 Adequan Grand Prix
Sameh El Dahan delivered an outstanding performance aboard WKD Toronto to claim victory in the $75,000 Adequan Grand Prix at the Desert International Horse Park. The British rider produced a flawless jump-off round, crossing the finish line more than eight seconds ahead of the competition.
Riding one of only seven clear rounds from 41 starters, Sameh and “Zak,” as the 12-year-old Irish Sport Horse is known at home, showcased their long-standing partnership and precision over the Marina Azevedo–designed course.
“We bred him, so I’ve ridden him since he was young. He’s little but mighty — a fiery, opinionated horse with a huge heart,” said Sameh. “With him, less is more. I try to listen to the horses rather than dominate them, and today that approach paid off.”
